Queensland Flood Relief Appeals

I’ve just donated to the following two Flood Relief Appeals. Perhaps you’d like to do the same? Every little bit helps. 😀

The Queensland Government has launched an appeal to help fellow Queenslanders affected by the recent floods. Many communities have been devastated. Some families have lost everything. You can help make a difference by donating to the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal…

RSPCA Qld is calling for donations that can be used to purchase pet, livestock and wildlife supplies in areas affected by the current flood crisis. We’re urging people to donate financially rather than dropping off supplies because of the logistics involved in moving those much need items throughout the State. Money that could otherwise be used to help animals would be taken up in transportation and packaging costs…

(The banners above were made/modified by me from images and information on the Qld Govt website and the RSPCA Qld website. They link directly to the relevant pages of the websites involved, where further information about how to donate online, by telephone, by mail or bank transfer can be found. These banners and links will also appear in the January Axis Mundi, due out in about 1 week.)

Edit: 19/01/2011 Here’s a few more…

    1. Thanks for sharing this Suzanne. Yes, we’re safe where we are in Sydney. Seeing the devastation on the TV reports has really made me appreciate what I have and where we live (although in drier weather we’re in a potential bushfire zone). My heart also goes out to all the people who have lost loved ones and everything else in these terrible floods. Any donations to these reputable charities, no matter how small, will be much appreciated and put to good use.
